Kissing the Cactus

I kissed this cactus and got a sharp thorn in my lip.

So I left it there for a bit, it really hurt.

Why I’m such great pals with this particular plant is that in the Aluna Mirror Worlds my hands have the same thorns on them. When I see a ghoul in the distance I fire making a soft noise that sounds like a chirp.

The thorn morphs into a blue or purple dot that flies through the Aluna and usually hits the ghoul, whereupon they take ten seconds or so to degrade to nothing.

I’ve wiped out hundreds of thousands this way. Each that falls makes the world a safer place. The ghouls are usually humans that have devolved to an ugly state of being over many thousands of years in some cases.

At times I pray for the evolution of the ghouls but I’m sure it doesn’t help much. They are so far gone down the path of hate and anger their souls are fired to a crisp. (sw)
