Modern PCs are infested with hidden advertising programs called spyware. It is a form of hacking. Sometimes it is quite benign; they just want to know what sites you visits and what you buy off the Internet. But some of it is intrusive and criminal. The hackers are looking for PIN numbers and bank details.

Sadly, much of the anti-spy softwear offered on the Internet is by the very companies that are hacking you, or sending you illegal spams. Many of the systems offered are poor knock offs of the real thing, or down right bogus.

There was a story recently about it on Yahoo news in which they ran a link to a story in eWeek, who recommended a site called Spywear Warriors. This site shows a long list of bogus anti-spy soft wear and it has many other helpful tips.
