Rioting as a Spiritual Experience

The Daily Mail in London reported that a senior Church of England official, the Bishop of Bath and Wells, The Right Reverend Dr. Peter Price, has told the church’s parliament that rioting is an ecstatic, spiritual experience.

And he added that the recent four days of riots in London were due to spending cuts, inequality and “structural sin” in the rest of society.

Dr. Price said something is released in rioters that takes them out of themselves as a kind of spiritual escape. Nice eh? Like going to church to listen to the singing. I believe unemployment and the bleakness of life drives people to seek a higher meaning.

There are going to be a lot more spiritual experiences once England collapses. And America is going to have a civil war, to throw off the yoke of the Federal Reserve, Wall Street and the fascist White House.

I’m not sure if opening fire on the bankers is going to help the rednecks feel spiritual or not, and does it qualify as “structural sin”? I really don’t know.

But if they blow up the banks that will make the structures look different, so maybe that’s what the good bishop means by structural sin. Architectural realignment….as spiritual advancement. Stuart Wilde
